Elisabetta Valiante

Lead Scientific and Applied Computing at 1QBit

Elisabetta Valiante has extensive work experience in scientific and applied computing, optimization solutions, and computational physics. Elisabetta started their career at the Max Planck Institute as a PhD student, where they focused on studying infrared galaxies and their evolution through observations and modeling. Elisabetta then joined The University of British Columbia as a Postdoctoral Fellow, conducting research on galaxies' evolution using infrared and submm data. Elisabetta later joined Cardiff University as a Research Associate, where they contributed to the Herschel-ATLAS project and led the first major data release. Since 2018, Elisabetta has been working at 1QBit, starting as a Computational Physicist and progressing to roles such as Senior Optimization Solutions Scientist, Principal Optimization Solutions Scientist, and Lead, Optimization Solutions. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Scientific and Applied Computing at 1QBit.

Elisabetta Valiante has an extensive education history in the field of physics and astrophysics. Elisabetta attended Liceo Scientifico "A. Einstein" in Teramo from 1993 to 1998 and completed their Maturita' Scientifica. Subsequently, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Sapienza Università di Roma from 1998 to 2003, earning a Master's degree in Physics. To further advance their knowledge and expertise, Valiante went on to Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astrophysics from 2004 to 2008.
