Tim McCarter

Tim McCarter has worked in the software engineering industry since 1987. Their career began with Automated Sciences Group as a Software Engineer for the SHaRRP Sensor Handover Risk Reduction Program, where they designed pointing and tracking algorithms and implemented data interfaces. Tim then moved to Raytheon as a Senior Engineer for the Enhanced Fiber Optic Guided Missile, where they wrote the Software Requirements Specification and was responsible for Missile Flight and Seeker Control software. In 1996, they joined Sparta as a Senior Engineer for the Ground Based Interceptor Payload Launch Vehicle Software Support, where they performed analysis and simulation of foreign radar systems. From 1997 to 2001, they worked at Coleman Research Corp as a Senior Software Engineer for the Tactical Systems Division, leading the software architecture and programming for the Joint Embedded Messaging System. In 2004, they were Vice President of Strategic Development at Applied Data Trends, Inc., where they managed business development and communications staff. In 2011, they started their own company, McCarter Independent Contracting, providing engineering services as a Subject Matter Expert for Software Engineering. Tim also became President & CEO of 1st Edge LLC, a small business with an employee-centric environment based in Huntsville, Alabama.

Tim McCarter attended Georgia Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
