The 2.8 for Nate Foundation was established to honor the memory of Nate Ljungberg, who tragically passed away in September 2020 after a courageous battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. Nate, a 19-year-old from East Aurora, New York, was deeply passionate about sports, particularly lacrosse, hockey, and football. He made a lasting impact on his community through his strong relationships and unwavering spirit.

Originally founded as a walkathon to raise funds for the East Aurora Lacrosse Boosters, the foundation quickly gained tremendous community support and evolved into a full-fledged organization. Today, as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the 2.8 for Nate Foundation is dedicated to making meaningful contributions to organizations that focus on pediatric cancer treatment and research, as well as providing financial assistance to families facing similar challenges.

The foundation's mission is to continue Nate's legacy by supporting those affected by pediatric cancer, ensuring that his positive influence lives on within the community.
