Ed Cooney

Ed Cooney has extensive work experience in the mining industry, spanning over two decades. Most recently, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at 29Metals starting in July 2021. Prior to that, from October 2019 to June 2021, they held the role of Operations Director at EMR Capital.

From July 2015 to October 2019, Ed Cooney worked at Agincourt Resources as the General Manager and Director of Operations. Before that, they served as the Deputy General Manager of Operations at G-Resources from January 2013 to June 2015.

Ed Cooney's earlier experience includes roles at BHP Billiton, where they worked as a Mining Manager from August 2010 to December 2012, Manager of Resource Planning and Development from November 2009 to July 2010, and Deputy Mine Manager from April 2008 to October 2009.

Prior to BHP Billiton, they worked at Petrosea as the Technical Services Manager from September 2005 to March 2008. Ed also gained experience at Xstrata Zinc as a Contract Mining Engineer from August 2004 to May 2005.

Starting their career, Ed Cooney worked at Barrick Gold Corporation as a Senior Production Engineer from April 2003 to July 2004 and at Mount Isa Mines as a Mining Engineer from January 2000 to April 2003.

Ed Cooney completed their Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Mining from UNSW between 1995 and 1999. In 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from both UCLA Anderson School of Management and the National University of Singapore.
