Jo McDonnell

Jo McDonnell possesses extensive experience in sustainable development, environmental consulting, and impact investing. Jo served as the CDKN Africa Deputy Director at SouthSouthNorth, managing a £5m/year DFID programme focused on climate-compatible economic development. Jo currently leads the 2X Challenge at 2X Global, mobilizing significant funds for Gender Lens Investing. As an independent consultant from 2013 to 2021, Jo advised various clients, including PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Rwanda Environmental Management Authority. Prior experience includes roles as Impact Lead at Innovest Advisory and Environmental Consultant at Black & Veatch, where Jo executed environmental impact assessments and consulting projects. Jo holds an MRes in Science of the Environment from Lancaster University and a BA/MA in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
