Derek Smart

Derek Smart is a veteran in the gaming industry, serving as CEO and CTO of 3000AD, Inc. since October 1992, where the focus is on developing large-scale sci-fi games known for their creativity. In addition, Derek holds the positions of CEO and CTO at Wide Span Ventures since December 2021 and is a Lifetime Member of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA®) since March 1997. With extensive experience as a software developer since June 1989 and previously as Managing Partner at Quest Online from February 2010 to December 2021, Derek Smart has established a significant presence in game development.
