Ivan Makeev

Ivan Makeev is an accomplished researcher and engineer specializing in applied research, algorithms, 3D computer vision, and deep learning. They served as a Research Scientist at Intel Labs from 2012 to 2015 and have held various roles, including Head of Deep Learning and Robotics at ARRIVAL, where they focus on robotic perception and control. Currently, Ivan is the Head of Computer Vision at Observe Technologies and the Chief Scientist and Co-founder of 3DLOOK, leading efforts in deep learning for automated precision fish farming and human body understanding, respectively. They also contributed to academia as an Associate Professor at Saint Petersburg State University from 2006 to 2015, earning a Ph.D. in Computational and Applied Mathematics.
