Gary Butler has worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years. Gary began their career in 1990 as a Northern Area Sales Manager for NXP Semiconductors. In this role, they built a successful team of 8 senior account managers and developed the business to 50M€, representing 30% turnover growth and increased market share from 7% to 9%. Gary then became the Ford European Key Account/Automotive Market Sector Manager for NXP Semiconductors, where they were responsible for a team of 6 account managers and application support to develop strategic automotive accounts (25M€) and increased market share from 6% to 12%. In 2006, they moved to Philips as the Global Key Account Manager for Tesco, where they were responsible for sales of 70M€ portfolio of consumer professional and healthcare products with profits of 25M€. Gary managed a team of 40 people from 3 Philips divisions serving Tesco and their alliances in 13 countries. In 2008, they joined OmniVision Technologies as the European Senior Sales Manager, where they were responsible for design in and sales of CMOS Image Sensors to European Automotive market and geographic customers. In 2013, they became the Business Account Manager for PowerSolutions UK Limited. From 2016-2018, they worked as an Independent Automotive Consultant. Gary currently works as the Director of European Business Development for 3IS, Inc., where they research automotive electrical & electronics.
Gary Butler's education history includes completing a TEC Level 3 Electronics and Telecommunications degree from Chester Higher Education College between 1984 and 1986, an Electronics and Telecommunications degree from MOD training school between 1979 and 1984, an Electronics and Telecommunications degree from Birkenhead Technical College between 1977 and 1979, and Maths Science Geography from Mosslands Comprehensive between 1970 and 1977. Additionally, they hold a Philips PQA , ISO900/1 certification.
