John Schmidt

John Schmidt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of Chemical Engineering, currently serving as a Senior Technical Manager at 3M since March 2012. In this role, John leads the Materials and Radiation Processing cluster within the Corporate Research Process Lab, overseeing over 35 full-time employees and focusing on strategic R&D priorities across multiple technology areas. Previously, John held various managerial positions at 3M, including Technical Manager and Sr. Technical Supervisor, managing groups in advanced robotics and data science. John's academic credentials include a PhD and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, along with a BS in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
