Matthew Burch is currently a Senior Project Leader in 3M's Industrial Specialties Division, where they lead diverse projects focused on new product introductions and the application of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. Previously, they served as the Laboratory Operations Manager in the Corporate Research Analytical Laboratory, overseeing research programs and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Matthew also has experience as a Research Specialist, contributing to microscopy and data science projects, and holds a PhD in Materials Science from North Carolina State University. Earlier in their career, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and gained foundational experience in physics and mathematics at Coe College.
