Michael Determan is currently the Global R&D Director at 3M, leading a global lab dedicated to developing adhesives, sealing, and attachment solutions for the automotive and aerospace industries. Previously, they served as Laboratory Director and Senior Technical Manager within 3M's Corporate Research Materials Laboratory, focusing on pressure-sensitive adhesives and release materials. Prior to 3M, Michael worked as a Research Chemist at GE Plastics for a brief period. They hold both a Bachelor’s and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University, which they completed between 1997 and 2005.
