3rd Rock Renewables | Sustainable Construction Innovators

At 3rd Rock Renewables, we are at the forefront of sustainable construction technology, dedicated to transforming the way infrastructure is built. Our innovative Mechanical Concrete® technology, developed by career civil engineer Sam Bonasso, utilizes recycled end-of-life tires to create stronger, more durable, and environmentally friendly building materials.

What We Do:
Our patented Mechanical Concrete® process confines aggregates within geosynthetic cylinders derived from recycled tires. This method significantly reduces the environmental impact of construction by lowering carbon emissions and cutting maintenance costs by more than 75% compared to traditional methods. Our technology is not only a cost-effective solution but also a sustainable one, supporting corporate green initiatives and reducing landfill waste.

Key Benefits of Mechanical Concrete®:

Reduced Carbon Emissions: Achieves the same or better weight-bearing capacity with only 8 inches of excavation, reducing overall construction carbon emissions.
Environmental Impact: Removes approximately 45 tons of waste from landfills per acre of surface area.
Enhanced Durability: Provides a virtually indestructible base that dramatically reduces common road maintenance problems such as potholes, ruts, and shoulder erosion.
Proven Performance: Supports heavy truck loads even on soft sand and clay, with up to 200 psi working strength using ASSHTO #57 aggregate.
Our Vision:
With over 12 years of research and development, 3rd Rock Renewables is committed to pioneering the future of sustainable construction. We aim to deliver innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that not only meet but exceed industry standards.
