Euan Smith

Euan Smith is an experienced professional in the fields of systems, photonics, and technology, currently serving as the Head of Systems and Photonics at 42 Technology since October 2021. Previously, Euan held roles as Managing Consultant and Head of Software and Systems at the same company. Euan's background includes leadership positions such as Director of Research & Development at Lifesize, Director of Technology at both Kaptivo and Light Blue Optics, and Group Leader at Cambridge Display Technology. Euan began a career in laser science at Spectron Laser Systems and has also contributed as a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research. Euan holds a PhD in Nonlinear Optics from Heriot-Watt University and a 1st class BSc in Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering from the same institution.
