Dan Close

Dan Close began their career in 2011 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2012, they moved to Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Research Staff Scientist. In 2016, they returned to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Since 2011, they have also held the role of Chief Scientific Officer at 490 BioTech.

Dan Close obtained their Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Louis University in 2003. Dan then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Genome Science & Technology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they completed in 2011.
