Jonathan Rothberg

Jonathan Rothberg is a serial entrepreneur and Yale-trained scientist who has made significant contributions to the fields of genomics and healthcare. Jonathan is best known for inventing the first semiconductor-based DNA sequencing technology, which was commercialized by Life Technologies and later acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific for $13.6 billion. Rothberg has also founded several other companies in the healthcare and genomics space, including 4Catalyzer, Quantum-Si, Tesseract Health, Butterfly Network, Inc., and AI Therapeutics. Jonathan is currently Chairman and Founder of 4Catalyzer, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage healthcare and energy companies.

Jonathan Rothberg completed their undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University before moving on to earn their Ph.D. in molecular biology from Yale University.
