Lloyd Niccol has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Lloyd is currently the Head of Product Development at 5B. Prior to that, they served as an Honorary Fellow at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre at the University of Wollongong. Lloyd also held the position of Director of the Early Start Advisory Board & Finance Sub-committee at the Early Start University of Wollongong, where they played a crucial role in the development of a children's museum and creative learning venue.

Lloyd has extensive experience at BlueScope, where they worked in various roles, including Technology Development Manager, Building Products and Solutions Innovation Specialist, Acting Innovation Portfolio Manager, Acting Manager of Breakthrough Product Innovation, and Project Coordinator for PV Commercialisation.

In addition, they co-founded Elumin8 Energy, a team participating in the CSIRO ON Accelerator Program, and served as a Delegate/Winner in the Energy & Sustainability Think Tank at the China Australia Millennial Project. Lloyd also worked as a Project Manager for Team UOW Australia | Illawarra Flame, leading the University of Wollongong's entry into the Solar Decathlon China competition.

Earlier in their career, Lloyd gained experience in mechanical engineering and maintenance roles at BlueScope Steel. Lloyd started as a Mechanical Engineering Cadet and held positions as a Crane Design Engineer, Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, and Maintenance Planner. Prior to that, they worked as a Cellar Hand at Vicary's Winery, where they assisted the winemaking team during vintage and gained skills in wine making practices and techniques.

Lloyd Niccol's education history begins in 2007 when they enrolled at the University of Wollongong. During their time at the University of Wollongong, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at Chung-Ang University in 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Lloyd went on to pursue further education. In 2014, they attended the Centre for Sustainability Leadership and participated in their Fellowship Program, specializing in Sustainability Leadership.
