Rob Humphris has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Rob started their career as a Java Team Lead at Amino Communication in 2000, and later went on to work as an Engineering Manager at Infinite Bandwidth from 2002 to 2003. Rob then joined Upaid Limited as a Senior Software Engineer from 2004 to 2005.
In 2006, Rob began working as a Software Development Consultant at Beacon Computer Technology Ltd, a position they held until 2011. During this time, they co-founded Homaetrix Limited in 2011, where they served as a Software Architect and Co-founder until 2012.
From 2013 to 2014, Rob returned to Beacon Computer Technology Ltd as a Software Development Consultant, primarily focusing on creating a mobile phone application and web technology strategy. Rob then formed their own company, Embedded Web Technologies, in 2014, where they took on various projects and provided consultancy services.
In 2015, Rob joined Checkit as an IoT Software Architect, where they played a key role in developing their cloud-based system for food safety and facilities management. Rob worked on threat modelling and development of the security specification for the Checkit Work Management System.
In 2017, Rob became a Freelance Engineer, taking on a range of projects including writing the architecture specification for 8power's prototype IoT system and developing video streaming architecture. Rob later joined 8power Limited in 2018 as their IoT Architect, focusing on developing gateway and cloud systems to monitor critical assets for the water industry through vibration sensor measurements.
Rob Humphris attended Nottingham Trent University from 1992 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing Systems.
