Technical Operations Manager at A-Alpha Bio

Sam Halabiya is the Lab Operations Manager at A-Alpha Bio. Sam has a wealth of experience in DNA assembly and sequencing, having worked as a Research Scientist/Engineer 3 at the University of Washington from June 2016 to May 2021. In this role, Sam developed UW BIOFAB capabilities in DNA assembly, strain construction, and sequencing, and collaborated with researchers in the UW Institute for Protein Design to identify bottlenecks in creating libraries of designed proteins, propose solutions and execute pilot-scale experiments.

Prior to their work at the University of Washington, Sam was a Lab Technician Assistant at Everett Community College from January 2013 to June 2013. In this role, they provided support to the lab technicians in conducting experiments and maintaining the lab equipment.

Sam is highly skilled in DNA assembly and sequencing, and is dedicated to providing customer-focused solutions. Sam is an excellent communicator and problem solver, with a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and collaborators.

Sam Halabiya received their Master's degree in Pharmaceutical of Bioengineering from the University of Washington. Sam then went on to receive their Bachelor's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington as well.

They are on a team with Kendreick Herbst - Research Associate, Dasha Krayushkina - Research Associate, and Parker Shaffer - Lab Operations Associate. Their manager is Ryan Swanson, Senior Director of Biologics R&D.
