A Lapis Magazine is an editorial project born in 2024, dedicated to children and families. It was created to build moments of shared joy and to awaken creativity at every age. Through stories, games, activities and educational content, each issue invites readers to explore the world with imagination and curiosity.
Founded by Giulia and Margherita, A Lapis started as a small hand-sketched idea that took shape between café tables and phone calls across different cities. It grew into a magazine that tells unknown worlds, draws dreams, whistles songs, and brings never-before-seen characters to life — a place where fallen leaves can be picked up and turned into magic spells, and every story hides a secret waiting to be explored.
Inside each issue, readers find stories, recipes, games, informative columns, yoga lessons, playful "ads" (the kind A Lapis likes to make), horoscopes and much more — a magazine for children and for adults who still want to play.
After a first cycle of four seasonal issues — Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter 2024/2025 — A Lapis evolves with issue No. 5, Soffice ("Soft"), introducing original audio content and an increasingly immersive experience. We believe in the value of play, listening, and storytelling as tools to grow together.
Today A Lapis can be found on the shelves of independent bookshops across Italy and Canada, and reaches readers through its printed issues, audio stories, and newsletter.
