Levellé Alexander

Director of Operations & Intake at A Second Chance

LeVellé Alexander was born and raised in the heart of North Philadelphia, where he experienced many hardships as a child in a system of inequalities. LeVellé was educated in the Philadelphia public school system before attending George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science, which is a magnet school. At that point, he understood that there was more to life than just graduating high school. He was exposed to colleges and universities for the first time and became the first in his family to attend college.

LeVellé graduated from Lincoln University of PA in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in math. Although he studied computers, he always had a love for people, so became a substitute teacher and an after-school program director. In December of 2006, LeVellé was offered a job at ASCI and has been with the agency ever since.

LeVellé has worked in several departments at ASCI, including Kinship Emergency Response, Family Group Decision-Making, CUA Intake and Operations. He has found ASCI to be a place of advocacy for the voiceless and a helping hand for those in need.

LeVellé is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., serving as the Vice President of the Star of the East Society, which is a 501c3 organization that governs the Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at Lincoln University. He is also connected to several grassroots organizations that give back to the inner-city youths of Philadelphia. LeVellé believes that “it only takes one person to believe in you for you to believe in yourself and make the best of your life.”
