Awarded as one of the Best Places to Work by Gamesindustry.biz in 2022, A Shell in the Pit is an employee-first studio working that has worked on some of the most notable games released in the past decade, handling entire creative and technical audio pipelines and whole-cloth trailer production.

Our purpose is to create genuine "dream jobs" grounded in diverse people, skills, and perspectives. Deeply rooted in the indie game community, we’re committed to sharing knowledge, lifting others up, and creating whimsical sounds that add emotional depth to every game we touch. You can hear our work in Untitled Goose Game, Pacific Drive, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Caves of Qud, Thank Goodness You’re Here!, Rogue Legacy 1 & 2, Night in the Woods, Sneaky Sasquatch, and many more.

We love working together to make games sound like themselves.
