Daniel Ghezelbash

Board Member

Daniel Ghezelbash is the Director of the Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law and a Professor at UNSW Sydney. Recognised as Innovator of the Year in the 2025 Australian Law Awards, Daniel is an internationally renowned scholar focused on refugee and migration law. Daniel's research includes a DECRA Fellowship examining Australia's asylum procedures and the publication of the book *Refuge Lost: Asylum Law in an Interdependent World* (2018). As a practicing refugee lawyer and Special Counsel at the National Justice Project, Daniel actively promotes access to justice through technological innovations. Daniel has also co-founded initiatives like Wallumatta Legal and the Hear Me Out Complaints Platform, enhancing support for unrepresented litigants and combating systemic discrimination.
