Gary Smyth has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Gary currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Fundraising Committee at E4 Youth. Previously, Gary was a Partner, Investor, and Mentor at Capital Factory, where they supported startups and entrepreneurs. Gary also held roles such as a Chapter President at AA-ISP, a Contributing Writer at Entrepreneur Media, and a Senior Director at Elastic and Informatica, where they contributed to sales enablement and global inside sales. Gary has also been involved with organizations like the United Nations Association Austin and Aingines Inc., where they provided advisory services.

Gary Smyth has a diverse education history. Gary obtained a BA Honours degree in Marketing with French from the University of Stirling, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. In 1999 to 2000, they also earned an International Certificate in Business from EM Strasbourg Business School. In 2012, they attended George Mason University for the GMU Executive Development Program. Currently, in 2022, Gary is completing a Course Certificate in Sustainability Studies from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen.

In addition to their formal education, Gary has also obtained various certifications. In September 2022, they obtained certifications in "Introduction to ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance," "Navigating Environmental Sustainability: A Guide for Leaders," and "Sustainability Strategies" from LinkedIn. In May 2022, they completed a MEDDPICC Masterclass certification from MEDDICC. In August 2020, they obtained a certification in "Difficult Conversations: Talking About Race at Work" from LinkedIn. Furthermore, in December 2016, Gary became a Certified Professional Salesperson through the NASP - National Association of Sales Professionals.
