Jonna Thoma, CMP has several years of experience in meeting and event planning. Jonna currently holds the position of Director, Meetings & Events at AAAE, where they manage logistics for conferences, meetings, educational programs, and webinars. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Meetings Manager at AAAE, responsible for managing and planning approximately 25 meetings per year.
Jonna also worked as a Meetings Contractor at AAAE, where they handled all aspects of meeting planning during a colleague's maternity leave and successfully coordinated a large-scale event for 1,700 people. Before joining AAAE, they were a Meetings Consultant at the American Council of Engineering Companies and served as an Assistant Director at ACEC.
Jonna's career in meeting and event planning began at PIA, where they worked as a Meetings Manager. Overall, they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their current role at AAAE.
Jonna Thoma, CMP, holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Small Business Management, which they obtained from Radford University between 1995 and 1999. In 2000, they pursued further education at Northern Virginia Community College and obtained a Certificate of Meetings & Exposition Management, completing their studies in 2003. Additionally, in January 2006, Jonna Thoma earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification from the Events Industry Council.
