David Lau

David Lau currently serves as the Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) since July 2018, where responsibilities include supporting electrification programs in Europe and China and shaping future manufacturing strategies. Lau's tenure at AAM spans nearly two decades, beginning in 2000 as a Senior Manager in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, focusing on new business pursuit costing and engineering system development. Additional roles included defining manufacturing processes for disconnecting axle products, overseeing PTU assembly and test equipment, and managing plant engineering for front axles. Earlier experience includes working as a Process Engineer at Kendan Manufacturing, specializing in high-production machining. David Lau holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Materials Option from the University of Windsor, awarded in 1999.
