Vikram Chopra

Director - System Engineering, Electrification at AAM

Vikram Chopra has extensive work experience in the engineering field, particularly in the automotive industry. Vikram is currently serving as the Director of System Engineering for Electrification at AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Engineering Director at JING-JIN ELECTRIC NORTH AMERICA LLC from May 2021 to January 2022.

Chopra's previous roles include Manager of e-Axle Analysis and Test Engineering at Allison Transmission from May 2020 to May 2021, Engineering Manager of Advanced Engineering e-Axle Systems at Allison Transmission from April 2019 to May 2020, and Engineering Manager of Electric Vehicle Systems at AxleTech from January 2018 to April 2019.

Before joining Allison Transmission, Chopra worked as a Transmission Design Engineer at FEV North America, Inc. from June 2014 to May 2015. Vikram also gained research and development experience as a Research and Development Specialist at the Robotic Mechanical System Laboratory from September 2009 to February 2014.

Chopra started their career as an Engineering Intern at Centro Universitário da FEI in July 2009 and later worked as a Research Analyst at the Centre for Intelligent Machines from April 2006 to July 2009.

In addition to their engineering roles, Chopra also had teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at McGill University from September 2007 to April 2013, where they taught courses on Robotics and Design Graphics. Vikram presented papers at conferences in Seoul, S. Korea, Montreal, Quebec, and Quebec, Quebec.

Vikram Chopra earned their Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University from 2004 to 2009. Vikram then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University from 2009 to 2014.
