Terrell Carter has a diverse work experience in the field of global health and research. Terrell started their professional journey in 2002 as an Epidemiology Research Assistant at Fort Worth Public Health Department. In 2003, they worked as a Research Assistant at Texas Christian University, followed by a role as a Research Coordinator at the University of Florida College of Medicine from 2005 to 2006.

Terrell then joined PATH in 2006, where they served as a Program Officer for the Malaria Vaccine Initiative until 2011. Terrell then moved on to the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2012, initially as a Manager of Global Child Health Programs. Over the years, they progressed to become the Director of Global Child Health Initiatives in 2017, and later the Director of Global Child and Adolescent Health in 2019. Currently, Terrell holds the position of Senior Director of Global Operations and Program Development at the American Academy of Pediatrics since January 2023.

Throughout their professional journey, Terrell has gained extensive expertise in global health initiatives and program development, with a particular focus on child and adolescent health.

Terrell Carter began their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Sociology at Texas Christian University from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they attended the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a Master of Health Sciences degree in International Public Health/International Health.
