The Aarju Foundation is a non-profit, registered with the charity commissionorate of Mumbai as a community based organization that would essential working on marginalized populations and those affected and living with HIV, specific focus is provided on issues of Men who sex with Men population inclusive of transgender and hijra population in Mumbai and other district of Maharashtra.
A group of dedicated social workers and community activists established Aarju Foundation in the year 2005 aiming to improve the socio-economic conditions of most disadvantaged population particularly of sexual minorities, marginalised woman, children and the unemployed youths in both rural and urban areas in Maharashtra through implementing program interventions in the fields of HIV prevention and care, poverty alleviation, non-formal education, adult literacy, health and nutrition, family planning, legal aid support, advocacy and social protection.
