Alan Weil

Alan Weil is a seasoned public policy expert currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Public Policy at AARP since 2025. They previously held the position of Editor-in-Chief at Health Affairs from 2014 to 2024 and were the Executive Director for both the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing from 1994 to 1997 and the National Academy for State Health Policy from 2004 to 2014. Additionally, they served as the Center Director at The Urban Institute from 1997 to 2004. Alan earned a Doctor of Law (JD) and a Master's in Public Policy (MPP) from Harvard, along with a Bachelor's in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
