Anna Velazco is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in grants management, workforce development, and organizational leadership. Currently serving as Director of Institutional Grants at AARP since August 2014, Anna's previous roles include senior positions at the University of the District of Columbia, where leadership in adult education and vocational training projects positively impacted low-income populations. As Executive Director of the DC Public Library Foundation, Anna achieved notable organizational recognition and enhanced public engagement through innovative events and strategic communications. Additionally, Anna has contributed to significant reforms in child and youth services within the Office of the Deputy Mayor and has led national refugee resettlement programs while holding various educational roles that emphasize innovative learning strategies for disadvantaged communities.
