NYS Legislative Representative

Bill Ferris is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in legislative advocacy and policy development, currently serving as the NYS Legislative Representative for AARP since November 1999. In this role, Bill advances AARP New York's state legislative agenda through collaboration with government officials, acts as the lead media spokesperson on policy matters, and creates grassroots and media strategies to support AARP's initiatives. Prior to this, Bill held positions as a Grassroots Coordinator with the NYS Association of Community and Residential Agencies, a Legislative Analyst for the New York State Job Training Partnership Council, and a Legislative Aide within the New York State Assembly. Bill holds a Master of Science degree from The Sage Colleges-Sage Graduate School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
