Crystal McDonald is an experienced advocate with a strong background in health care policy and organizational management. Currently serving as the Associate State Director for Advocacy at AARP since November 2017, McDonald focuses on policies that empower individuals aged 50 and older. Prior to this role, McDonald worked as a Program Manager at the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, contributing to a comprehensive report aimed at enhancing the NJ Medicaid program. McDonald’s earlier experience includes leadership positions at FAITH IN NEW JERSEY INC and New Jersey Citizen Action, where efforts centered on health disparities and access to quality care. McDonald’s career began as a Program Assistant at the Sierra Club NJ Chapter after earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stockton University.
