Janis Cheney is currently the State Director at AARP, a position held since 2000. Prior to this role, Janis served as the State Director for the Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program at the ND Insurance Department from 1992 to 2000 and as the Director of Special Projects in the Office of Governor George Sinner from 1985 to 1992. Janis pursued a Master’s degree in Theatre & Speech at North Dakota State University from 1976 to 1978 and is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
