Mike Watson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community policy, legislative advocacy, and program management. Currently serving as the Director of Livable Communities at AARP since August 2011, Mike Watson has been instrumental in advancing local policy changes and enhancing AARP's outreach through strategic partnerships and major national programs, including the successful AARP Community Challenge. Previous roles at AARP include leading the Livable Communities team and providing strategic counsel to high-level executives during significant advocacy campaigns. Prior experience includes serving as the chief lobbyist for The Senior Citizens League and an internship with the United States House of Representatives. Mike Watson holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a professional certificate in Municipal Finance from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
