Timothy Gearan is a seasoned public policy professional with extensive experience in legislative advocacy and communications. Currently serving as Legislative Director at AARP since 2002, Timothy leads the development of appropriations advocacy plans addressing crucial federal budget issues, including health care, nutrition, drug safety, transit for the elderly, subsidized housing, and emergency services, advocating for approximately $350 billion in annual spending. Prior experience includes Senior Vice President at Conover & Company Communications, Principal at Capitol Analysis, and Senior Legislative Assistant for Senator Dennis DeConcini, where significant legislative leadership roles were undertaken in areas such as civil rights and various domestic issues. Timothy holds an MPA in Urban Planning Management from Arizona State University and a B.S. cum laude in Public Administration from the same institution, complemented by legal education at Whittier College School of Law.
