Mark Edwards

Director, Product Lifecycle Services at Abaco Systems

Mark Edwards has extensive experience in the technology and defense industries. Mark is currently serving as the Director of Product Lifecycle Services at Abaco Systems, Inc., where they lead the global Bid Management and Product Lifecycle Management teams. In this role, Mark is responsible for maintaining customer support contracts and providing quotes for end-of-life products. Mark ensures that the build and test infrastructure is in place and that components are available for these products.

Prior to their current role, Mark worked as the Commercial Solutions Manager at Abaco Systems Ltd for four years, where they played a key role in providing industrial software and computing solutions to various industries.

Before joining Abaco Systems, Mark held positions at GE Intelligent Platforms and Radstone Technology, both of which are companies providing industrial software, control systems, and embedded computing platforms to the defense market. At GE Intelligent Platforms, Mark served as a Bid Manager, leading multi-disciplined capture teams to provide commercial and technical proposals, as well as a System Architect, designing system-level solutions utilizing open architecture hardware. At Radstone Technology, Mark worked as a Program Manager, overseeing the supply of rugged open architecture systems for the defense market.

Mark's career in the technology industry began at Ferranti, where they worked as a Lead Engineer.

Mark Edwards has a strong educational background in electrical and electronics engineering. Mark attended Barton Peveril College from 1981 to 1983, where they completed A levels in Physics, Pure Maths, Electronics, and Chemistry. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree at Bangor University from 1983 to 1986. Mark furthered their studies at the same university, completing a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 1986 to 1987.
