Nelson Rivera has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Nelson began their career in 2002 as a Field Technician at Rentfusion, where they worked until 2005. In 2005, they joined Lord & Taylor as a Help Desk Analyst, where they provided hardware and software support, initiated and implemented system modifications, and coordinated projects with divisional leaders.
In 2010, Nelson joined Chelsea Technologies as a Help Desk Engineer and eventually progressed to the role of Helpdesk Supervisor. In 2012, they became the Service Desk Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service desk.
Since 2014, Nelson has been working at Abacus Group, starting as a Client Technical Services Engineer. Nelson then moved up the ranks, serving as Manager of Client Support from 2015 to 2017, and subsequently as the Manager of Client Support Engineering from 2017 to the present. Most recently, they have taken on the position of Security Engineer, where they are responsible for ensuring the security of company systems.
Throughout their career, Nelson has demonstrated a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage and coordinate projects.
Nelson Rivera holds a diploma in Computer Technical Support from The Chubb Institute, which they obtained from 2001 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Nelson has obtained several certifications, including InsightIDR Specialist from Rapid7 in April 2023, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in February 2022, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in January 2023, Proofpoint Certified Insider Threat Specialist 2023 from Proofpoint in April 2023, ITIL Foundation from EXIN (details of the month and year obtained are not provided), and Network + and Security + from CompTIA (details of the month and year obtained are not provided).
