Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is a no-kill animal shelter with the mission to rescue, heal and rehome abandoned and neglected cats and dogs, while also promoting responsible pet ownership and advocating for animal welfare in our community.

Abandoned Pet Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We rely on volunteers and donations to save lives.

APR's adoption center houses 100 cats and 50 dogs. Annually, APR rescues 330 pets and adopts out just as many by carefully matching pets and families. APR also provides 20 Medical Adoptions, which allow pets with special needs and those overlooked for years to be adopted into a loving home while receiving free ongoing medical care from the shelter veterinarian for the life of the pet. This program gives harder-to-adopt animals a fair chance at their second chance.

Pets at APR receive nutritious meals, enrichment and medical care including vaccinations, spaying / neutering and testing for common illnesses. When animals arrive malnourished, abused or unwell, staff and volunteers work to rehabilitate and nurture these animals so they can be placed in forever homes.
