Chao Wu

Chao Wu is currently the VP and Head of Group Investment and Portfolio at ABB Ventures, having transitioned from the role of Investment Director within the same organization. Chao previously served as Principal at Sunbo Ventures, focusing on energy and hardware-related investments, and as a Venture Partner with an Asia-based family office, where they supported expansion into Europe. With a strong foundation in R&D, product development, and innovation management, Chao has also held roles as a mentor across various organizations and led a start-up in stealth mode that commercialized quantum materials. They hold an Executive MBA from INSEAD and are pursuing degrees in Materials Science at Southeast University and the University of Southern California.
