Govind Chavan

Govind Chavan is a seasoned professional in the field of electrical engineering, currently serving as a Principal Scientist at ABB since May 2021, where responsibilities include managing and providing technical guidance for advanced power electronics projects utilizing wide-bandgap technologies. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Scientist and Scientist at Smart Wires Inc. from September 2017 to May 2021, and as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer and Power Electronics Engineer at FREEDM Systems Center from February 2012 to August 2017. Additional experience encompasses an internship at Quanta Technology, LLC focused on transmission business areas, and an Assistant Manager position at Reliance Infrastructure Limited, where electrical design work for a coal-fired thermal power plant was conducted. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, as well as a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
