Jaani Kärppä

Jaani Kärppä is currently a Design Manager and Chief Designer at ABB, where they lead a mechanical R&D team and are responsible for developing design processes and competence. Since joining ABB in 2010, Jaani has managed projects for medium voltage industrial cabinet drives, as well as previously leading the design of high power liquid cooled drives. Their earlier experience includes roles as Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and Chief Designer, focusing on drives for harsh environments and contributing to product development throughout their career. Jaani holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aalto University.
