Marco Ulrich is an experienced research and development professional currently serving as the Research Department Head for Digitalization & Software Technologies at ABB Corporate Research since July 2007. With a strong background in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic projects, Marco has played a key role in initiatives related to Digitalization and Industrie 4.0. Prior to this, Marco held positions such as Team Manager for Analytics and Software Applications and Lifecycle Science, as well as Principal Scientist and Global Sub-Research Area Coordinator, focusing on industrial sensor technology and autonomous devices. Earlier experience includes an internship at Siemens Healthcare in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems. Marco holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Physics from Heidelberg University and a Dipl-Phys. in Physics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, supplemented by studies at Uppsala University.
