Nigel Smith

Nigel Smith is an experienced Inspection Engineer at ABB Switzerland Ltd. since March 2004, responsible for the preparation of written schemes of examination, inspection of pressurized systems, monitoring repairs, and participating in risk-based inspection reviews. Additionally, Nigel has served as an Engineering Surveyor at ABB since the same time and has prior experience as an NDT Supervisor at Oceaneering from May 1998 to January 2003, where oversight of NDT Technicians was key during daily operations and plant turnarounds. Nigel began a career in engineering as a Fabrication Apprentice at ICI from 1985 to 1989, specializing in various aspects of fabrication. Nigel holds an HNC in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Teesside, obtained between 2006 and 2009.
