Shuyang Chen

Shuyang Chen is a Robotics R&D Engineer at ABB since June 2021, focusing on the integration of deep learning, computer vision, and motor control for robotic manipulation tasks. Chen also serves as a Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where involvement has spanned various projects since July 2017. Previous experience includes a Research and Development Internship at ABB in August 2020, where Chen developed a REST service in C++ for motion control and data exchange in a vision-guided robotic grasping project. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Robotics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2017-present), a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics) from The Johns Hopkins University (2014-2016), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (2010-2014).
