Owen Smith

Owen Smith is a Principal Safety and Risk Consultant with over 23 years of experience in major accident hazard industries, specifically in the UK and Australian offshore oil and gas sectors as well as the UK nuclear industry. They attained an MSc in Safety Engineering and Risk Management from the University of Aberdeen and a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. Their career includes roles at notable companies such as British Energy, Woodside Energy, and Atkins, where they delivered extensive technical safety and risk support, including Formal Safety Assessments and Safety Case development. Currently, Owen serves as a Principal Consultant at Abbott Risk Consulting.
