Gamar Akhundova

Gamar Akhundova, MD, is currently the Gastroenterology TA Head at Abbott, a position they have held since 2022. Previously, Gamar worked as a Gastroenterology Specialist at City Clinical Hospital # 5 in Baku, Azerbaijan from 2001 to 2010. Their extensive career also includes roles such as Medical Advisor for IBD at Takeda, Associate Director of Clinical Development at Arena Pharmaceuticals, and Product Medical Lead at Shire. Gamar earned their Doctor of Medicine degree in Gastroenterology from Azerbaijan Medical University and completed Advanced Studies in Medicines Development at the University of Basel. They are currently pursuing a degree in Health Economics and Policy at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
