Matthew Tanner

Matthew Tanner is a Staff R&D Engineer at Abbott, specializing in product and process development with a strong background in laboratory standards and science advocacy. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics from Iowa State University and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Dakota, where their graduate research focused on an antimicrobial additive in commercial paint. Matthew has extensive research skills, including data analysis and various spectrometries, and they previously served as Education Outreach Coordinator for the South Dakota Biotechnology Association, where they planned the Annual SD BIO Summit. Additionally, they founded and presided over the Student Chapter of the Society for Biomaterials at the University of South Dakota.
