Matthias Mueller is a highly experienced leader in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Divisional VP and Head of Innovation and Development at Abbott since March 2022. In this critical global role, Matthias oversees various functions including Product and Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to Abbott, Matthias held multiple senior positions at Teva Pharmaceuticals from October 2015 to March 2022, including VP Global Medical Affairs and VP, Head of Global Therapeutic Areas. Matthias also served as SVP, Medical Affairs for Europe, Australia, and North America at Grünenthal from March 2009 to September 2015 and held key roles at sanofi-aventis and Grünenthal earlier in the career. Matthias holds an MD from Heidelberg University and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the University of Surrey.
