Roland Back is an experienced professional in regulatory affairs and quality assurance, with a robust career spanning multiple leading organizations in the medical device industry. Roland held significant roles at Smiths Medical as Registration and Standards Manager, and Morgan Advanced Materials as Project Leader Bioceramics, where notable contributions included securing a research grant and improving manufacturing processes. At CR Bard, Roland established the EU RA/QA team and core processes for product launches. Roland’s tenure at Boston Scientific involved post-market regulatory affairs, while further consultancy work at MAETRICS focused on the medical device sector. Currently, Roland serves as Director Regulatory Affairs EMEA at Abbott, following a similar position at St. Jude Medical, overseeing post-market surveillance and regulatory compliance in the EMEA region.
