Álmath Spooner

Álmath Spooner serves as the Head of Europe Regulatory Policy and Intelligence at AbbVie, responsible for leading policy and regulatory intelligence teams in the Europe Region since September 2020. Prior to this role, Álmath was the Director of Regulatory Policy and Intelligence, where responsibilities included global regulatory policy leadership in areas such as Real World Evidence and Patient Focused Drug Development. Álmath's legal experience includes working as a Barrister specializing in commercial law at The Bar of Ireland. With significant expertise in pharmacovigilance and risk management, Álmath held the position of Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management Lead at the Health Products Regulatory Authority and was the first elected Vice Chair of the European Medicines Agency's Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee from 2012 to 2018. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy from Trinity College Dublin and various postgraduate diplomas with distinction.
